New York Public Library - Stephen A. Schwarzman Building

The other day I studied at the NYC public library by Bryant park and I absolutely loved it!

It is a little touristy at some points, but if you go to the study room on the 3rd floor it is a great place to focus and work! I loved the environment, and felt like it made me very productive.

The down side I think is that you can not have any food or drinks there other than water, and even water needs to be left on the floor or in your bag. This for me means I couldn't stay but a couple of hours, but it was totally worth it!

Also, get there early so you can get a spot with an outlet!

... Read moreWhen searching for ideal study spots in New York City, the New York Public Library's Stephen A. Schwarzman Building stands out. Located near Bryant Park, it's not just a hub of knowledge but also a beautifully designed space that fosters concentration. While touristy, the serene atmosphere on the 3rd-floor study room is perfect for serious studying. Enjoy the long tables amidst fellow student energy, which can enhance your productivity levels. However, it’s essential to keep in mind the library’s strict food and drink policy. Outside food is prohibited, including snacks, and even water must remain on the floor or in your bag. Many find this a drawback for extended study sessions, yet the atmosphere makes up for it. Another tip is to arrive early to secure a desk with an outlet, ensuring you can keep your devices charged while you work. The library also offers a plethora of resources, including access to rare books and archival materials, making it an inspiring place to study for both academic and personal growth. If you’re looking for a unique space that combines focus with historic beauty, this is undoubtedly a must-visit in NYC.
