Why I’m taking ballet as a physics major šŸ©°šŸ¤

Taking formal ballet classes is one of the best decisions I have made in college and graduate school!! Dance was always something I enjoyed before college, so taking formal classes seemed like a good idea so I could keep doing it and also learn about it as it was basically built into the fees I was already paying for tuition.

It is also great exercise and a good study break, but the best part about taking the class formally meant I actually had to go if I wanted a good grade. This allowed me to consistently have time throughout my week that I had to take a break and do what I enjoyed.

So many people have hobbies they loose at college and I have never understood why because it’s the best place to keep them up due to all of the resources!!

... Read moreParticipating in dance classes is a unique opportunity for students to embrace their passions while studying demanding subjects like physics. Ballet not only promotes physical health but also provides a much-needed mental break from rigorous coursework. The structure of formal classes encourages consistency, allowing students to carve out time in their busy schedules for self-care and enjoyment. Additionally, many universities offer dance classes as part of their tuition, making it an affordable way for students to engage in an enriching activity. Engaging with hobbies like ballet during college helps students maintain their individuality and mental well-being, which can lead to greater academic success. As well, dance can enhance cognitive functions and stress management skills, promoting a balanced lifestyle for students in challenging majors. Embrace your passions, and remember that college is the perfect time for exploration and personal growth!
