I’m ENGAGED!! 💍💗

I have been so excited to get engaged for the longest time! I told him he could do whatever he wanted as long as I was truly surprised! I would give little hints that we needed to go out more so that when he planned a special date I wouldn’t get suspicious. With all the hints I would give he would always tell me not to worry, he’s got this, and I should have trusted him! 😍

June 14-16 him and I were going to Jekyll Island for his friends birthday. It was just his friend, his fiance, me and him. It was going to be just a chill weekend and I almost didn’t go bc I was being asked to work from a couple of my side gigs even though I had already taken off. I’ve been working on boundaries so I told everyone no, thankfully!

We get there Friday night and everything seems normal. The activities, his actions, his mood, everything. We go to the beach early afternoon and me and him decided to go for a walk to this little hut selling drinks and food. This is when I start thinking to myself “wouldn’t it be crazy if this is when he proposed?” Random, unlikely thoughts are normal for me lol, so I thought nothing of it. And that thought would pop up throughout the rest of the day. Later we go to a cute little cafe for dinner, food is great and a certain point I had gotten up to go to the bathroom. Apparently this is when the three of them talked plans and put things in motion to finalize.

After dinner I had wanted ice cream and not knowing plans I almost ruined my engagement. I wasn’t told we were going to the beach to take pictures (bc I love sunsets) so I decided to go to the little shop next door for some ice cream and at this point it was 8 o’clock. My boyfriend went with me but he was acting a little annoyed but more nervous now that I think about it. I thought he was just not wanting ice cream and trying to get me to the beach so I wouldn’t get upset that I missed the sunset. I assumed I would be fine and got ice cream anyways.

Once we headed to the beach it was about 10 minutes and we had just made it on time. Everyone let me rush down to the water so I could get my pictures and that was when he got down on one knee!!

I was facing the water taking pics, that thought came right back, “what if when I turn around he’s on one knee”, and that’s exactly what happened. I turn around, he’s on his knee with the ring in his hand. I’m completely shocked from not expecting it whatsoever, saying stoppppp while pretending to hit him. (That looked so cringy in the video I wish I didn’t do that haha) He gave his little speech, we forgot what hand it goes on so we had to ask ppl around us, and then I jumped in his arms to give him a hug! 🤗 I was so happy and nervous I had to keep rewatching the video to remember what happened and it still feels so surreal.

This is not what I expected my proposal to be but that’s exactly the way I wanted it!! I love him so, so much! 💗💗💗
