Top Nine 2024
As the year winds down, here’s my year end reflection. I’ve discovered some new foodie haunts, wandered through unfamiliar places, shared some travel posts, a few family photos here and there, some candid shots of life, celebrated family milestones and experienced what it truly means by being an empty nester. It’s been a mix of adventure, comfort, and connection, as well as sheer agitation and it’s definitely been a ride. It hasn’t always been smooth sailing. There have been moments of growth where I’ve just had to relax and take in the few bumps on the road. Constant change is I guess, the only constant. Still, I am grateful for the moments that have resonated, for the connections made, and even for the lessons learned along the way. It is so easy to get caught up in the big goals, the major milestones, and the rush of life. But when I take a moment to step back, I realize it’s the little things, the everyday experiences where life really happens-the quiet mornings with a hot cup of masala tea with ginger, orange peel and cardamom, the looking forward to my Mum’s FaceTime every morning, her smile filling the screen, the latest gossip with my sister, Geezer curling up in a circle after coming from a walk after it has been snowing (although the weather this year has been pretty ok), a phone call from the kids telling me about how things are going, the simple act of stepping outside to feel the sun on my face, or a quiet evening settling in with a good movie on Netflix —these are the moments that ground me. It reminds me that happiness isn’t always about grand gestures, but about being present in the now. If you know me well enough, you know a fresh start is on the horizon for us as we embrace a new phase in our journey. So this year, I’ve learned to slow down, appreciate those tiny, fleeting moments, and let them fill me up. At the end of the day, it’s the little things that make life truly rich. This space has been a way to connect with those who appreciate the small, beautiful moments of life—just as I do. Looking ahead, I’m excited for what’s next- more stories to tell, more memories to create, and, of course, more adventures to share with all of you. Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
