win son bakery !!! <3🇹🇼👩🏻🍳
this crazy good taiwanese american fusion restaurant is a must try in brooklyn NY!
Stepping into Win Son Bakery at 164 Graham Avenue in Brooklyn felt like a mini culinary adventure! I'd heard so much buzz about this Taiwanese American fusion spot, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. As someone who loves exploring new flavors, I always ask for recommendations, and the staff's suggestion of the Jiucai Scallion Pancake was a winner. This wasn't just any scallion pancake; it was a masterpiece. Priced at $15, it came packed with chives, a divine shallot sauce, soft rice noodles, perfectly fluffy egg, and creamy havarti cheese. While some might find the rice noodles a bit unexpected, the overall combination was delightful. The havarti was such a genius choice, adding a rich, savory depth that complemented the chives beautifully without overpowering them. And that shallot sauce? Absolutely incredible, tying all the elements together. For those who are curious about the famed mortadella scallion pancake or seeking a hearty breakfast sandwich alternative, this Jiucai version definitely sets a high bar for what a savory breakfast or brunch item can be. It’s substantial, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. To wash it all down, I indulged in the Iced Jasmine Mango Milk Tea for $7, and let me tell you, it earned a perfect 10/10 rating! It was SO refreshing, not overly sweet, and had that perfect balance of floral jasmine and tropical mango. No notes, truly – it’s a must-try for any drink enthusiast. I also couldn't leave without trying a pastry, and the Red Rice Doughnut caught my eye. For $5, it was a thick, fluffy, and wonderfully not overly sweet treat with a vibrant red icing. It was a tough choice among their tempting selection, but this doughnut was a fantastic finish to my meal. I wish I had tried more pastries, and it's certainly on my list for next time. While the total bill was $34.81, making it a little pricey, I'm genuinely willing to pay the price for good eats that offer such unique and high-quality flavors. The creativity in combining traditional Taiwanese elements with American sensibilities is truly impressive. I can only imagine how they might incorporate ingredients like tofu or ginger sauce into other savory dishes, perhaps in a breakfast bowl or another creative sandwich. This spot is a definite must-return for me to explore more of their menu, especially their breakfast and brunch options. If you're in NYC and looking for an unforgettable meal, make your way to Win Son Bakery!
