meals on SQ to taipei (again)

Ticket: $497.30

Flight there: 10:45am – 2:55pm

Flight back: 5:45pm – 10:15pm

✧ loved that it wasn't a full flight — the empty seats made the entire fly feel much more spacious

✧ the meal on the flight there was quite filling as it was heavy on crab pasta... it might be a little too cheesy if you're not a cheese lover 👀

✧ coincidentally chose the fish option on both flights (it's my go-to safe choice)

✧ definitely preferred the meal on the return flight — everything paired well together, and the potatoes were nice and soft

🎬 movie recommendation: Golden Boy

... Read moreFlying from Singapore to Taipei with Singapore Airlines is always a treat, especially when you get a less crowded flight that makes the cabin feel so much more comfortable. On my recent trip, I appreciated the extra space which really improved the overall flying experience. For meals, I tend to choose the fish option since it's a safe and satisfying choice. On both legs of my journey, the fish entrées did not disappoint. The flight there featured a pearl couscous salad with prawns and a baked pasta with chicken tomato ragout topped with Parmesan cheese, which was quite hearty — maybe too cheesy for those who aren’t fans of strong cheeses. The dessert was a classic Magnum chocolate ice cream which was a sweet treat. On the way back, the seafood was even better: marinated shrimps with beancurd vegetable salad, followed by a baked fillet of fish in a delicate yuzu butter sauce, accompanied by sautéed vegetables and boiled potatoes. The soft potatoes were especially comforting. To top it all off, the Haagen-Dazs caramel biscuit & cream ice cream tastes extra indulgent mid-air, making it a perfect in-flight dessert. If you enjoy movies during flights, I highly recommend watching "Golden Boy." It’s an emotionally touching story that kept me engaged during the journey. The film follows Cheung Lek, a former boxing star facing his past struggles, and it’s wonderfully directed and performed. Next time you’re flying Singapore Airlines to Taipei, particularly if you get one of these quieter flights with plenty of empty seats, do try the fish meals and don't miss out on the great onboard entertainment. It really enhances the travel experience and makes the hours in the air enjoyable and relaxing.
