Windspinner
I used two colors. I used a bright color changing yarn for the first three rows and a bold accent color for the edge row.
Chain desired length for your Windspinner. I chained 102.
Row 1: One single crochet (SC) in the second chain from the hood and in each chain across; chain (CH) 2,and turn;
Row 2: double crochet (DC) in first stitch and then 2 DC in each stitch across; chain 2 and turn;
Row 3: DC in first stitch and then 3 DC in each stitch across; chain 1 and turn;
Row 4 ... Picot Edge Stitch ... Accent Color) SC in first stitch, in next stitch SC, Chain 2, SC in bade if the same SC; repeat (SC, CH 2, SC in base of same SC) across, end with a SC.
Do not tie off your yarn. Make a loop about 3-4 inches and then with a yarn needle, sew very securely into the last SC of the row. This is the hanger at the top of your Windspinner.
Make the Medallion for hanging below the bottom of your Windspinner.
Medallion: Chain 4, slip stitch into first chain to form ring. (Use s Magic Circle if this is your preference.)
Round 1: Chain 2 and add 11 DC into the center of the ring. Tighten ring. Slip Stitch into top of chain. 12 DC
Round 2: Chain 2, DC into same chain, 2 into each DC of previous round. Slip stitch to top of chain. 24 DC.
Round 3 Chain 2, DC into same chain stitch. 2 DC into next stitch; 1 DC into next stitch. Repeat (2DC, 1DC) across, ending with one DC; slip stitch to top of chain.
Round 4 ... Picot Edge... Accent Color ... SC in first stitch; in next stitch SC, Chain 2, SC in bade if the same SC; repeat (SC, CH 2, SC in base of same SC) around, end with a SC. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Attach the Medallion to the starting end yarn at the bottom of your Wind Spinner with a yarn needle through one SC on the edge of your Medallion. Weave in end securely.
Enjoy your Windspinner indoors or outdoors.
