And it came to pass when David return from slaughtering the Philistines, the women came out of all the cities of Israel singing and dancing to meet King Saul with joy using tabrets and other instruments to make music. They started to play and sing to one another saying, "Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands!" And Saul became extremely furious and the song displeased him on how the song ascribed saying David slain his ten thousands and Saul has slain his thousands. And Saul continually thinking to himself, what more can David have but the kingdom itself. And King Saul set his eyes on David from that day on and foward. ( 1 Samuel 18: 6-9)
