Things I stopped doing after healing emotionally.

💫Over-explaining myself.

💫Trying to fix everyone.

💫Forcing emotional conversations.

💫Carrying other people’s chaos.

💫Responding immediately.

💫Trying to control outcomes.

💫Abandoning my needs for peace.

💫Making myself emotionally available to everyone.

Some growth looks like becoming calmer. Some growth looks like finally letting go.

... Read moreEmotional healing is a journey that requires both self-awareness and the courage to set boundaries for yourself and others. From personal experience, I found that the biggest breakthrough came when I consciously decided to stop over-explaining myself. It’s exhausting trying to justify every feeling or action, especially to those who may not understand your perspective. Letting go of this habit grants you freedom and reduces unnecessary stress. Another major change was ceasing the habit of trying to fix everyone around me. While empathy is important, I learned that I’m not responsible for solving all of others’ problems. Carrying other people’s chaos only drains your energy and distracts you from your own healing. I also discovered the power of not forcing emotional conversations. Sometimes, when emotions are raw, pushing discussions prematurely can lead to resistance and strain relationships. Allowing others and myself the time to process feelings naturally fosters healthier communication. Responding immediately to every message or demand used to be a compulsion, but I realized that delaying responses when needed helped me maintain my peace. This meant I was no longer a slave to instant reaction but rather, I could be more present and thoughtful. Trying to control outcomes was one of the hardest habits to relinquish. Acceptance and trust in the process of life brought a profound sense of calm. Abandoning my need to control every detail opened doors to experiences I wouldn’t have otherwise embraced. Lastly, I stopped making myself emotionally available to everyone. It’s important to protect your emotional bandwidth by choosing when and with whom to share your vulnerability. Healing isn’t linear, and some growth shows up as becoming calmer and releasing what no longer serves you. These shifts create space for peace and authenticity to thrive in everyday life.
