29. i'm not where my mom was. i'm where i am meant to be. more reflections on what it is (and isn't) in the latest Society for Sensitives substack. #founderlife
Turning 29 can be a challenging age, especially when you feel like you’re not where your parents or peers were at the same stage. I’ve personally experienced a similar sense of pressure and comparison during my late 20s. Society often sets invisible checkpoints, like marriage, career success, or major life events that seem to happen by this age. But life rarely follows a linear path, and everyone’s timeline is uniquely their own. Throughout my late 20s, I went through multiple transitions — changing careers, relocating, and facing emotional and physical hurdles. Like many, I felt behind and uncertain, which led to burnout and self-doubt. However, embracing vulnerability and giving myself permission to take a different path was liberating. It helped me realize that success and happiness don’t have deadlines, nor do they look the same for everyone. In the mindset of "Society for Sensitives," acknowledging the highs and lows and giving importance to self-care and emotional wellness is vital. Sensitivity can be a source of strength, helping us connect deeply with our experiences and grow from them. For aspiring founders and women entrepreneurs especially, these reflections highlight the importance of patience, resilience, and trusting your unique journey. If you’re turning 29 and feeling out of sync with expected milestones, remember you’re not alone. Life’s challenges and setbacks often prepare us for future opportunities we can’t yet see. Sharing your story and connecting with others who understand this phase can provide comfort and inspiration. Embrace where you are now, not where others say you should be — that’s where your true growth and fulfillment begin.
