DISCERNMENT 💕🌷🌱
Last year I shared this post as my word of the month. Today I had a need to revisit it.
Friends! Choosing discernment matters because it helps you slow down and see things clearly. It’s the gentle practice of noticing what feels true, what brings peace, and what aligns with God’s heart. Discernment keeps you from reacting out of pressure or emotion and helps you make choices that protect your spirit. It’s a quiet kind of wisdom that steadies you and guides you in the right direction, one small step at a time.

Reflecting on discernment as a key spiritual practice has truly transformed how I approach everyday decisions. It’s not just about distinguishing right from wrong but understanding what aligns with a deeper sense of peace and truth. For me, discernment involves taking a moment to pause amid life's hustle, asking whether my choices truly reflect my core values and, in a spiritual context, God’s guidance. One way I cultivate discernment is through prayer and meditation on scriptures like Proverbs 3:6, which reminds me to trust in the Lord rather than my own understanding. This helps quiet the noise from my own doubts or external opinions. Sometimes, what I initially believe to be the right choice is clouded by pressure or emotion, but by practicing discernment, I learn to listen to the more subtle nudges of the Holy Spirit that point me toward peace and alignment with God’s heart. I’ve also realized how important discernment is in my relationships. It guides me to consider whether the people I surround myself with draw me closer to love, respect, and truth or whether they distance me from those qualities. This practice helps me decide when to speak up with kindness, when to listen attentively, or when stepping away is the healthiest choice. Using discernment daily has brought me a greater sense of peace and balance. It encourages me to carefully weigh my words and actions, asking if they uplift and build others up according to spiritual wisdom or merely react from frustration or fear. And when I make mistakes, discernment helps me learn gracefully, fostering growth instead of regret. Integrating discernment into my routine means I often pause before making big or small decisions, asking God for clarity and trusting in His timing rather than rushing ahead impulsively. This patient, prayerful approach has become a source of steady guidance, helping me navigate life’s complexities one step at a time.

I’ve been experiencing this a lot here lately it’s like I know stuff as soon as I walk up to it and can tell in about 5- 10 minutes of being around someone nor somethings.
