The Stain of Christianity

2025/8/24 Edited to

... Read moreIt’s a tough pill to swallow when you start seeing the world, and your faith, through a different lens. I used to hear 'JESUS IS LOVE' and truly believe it, but then I'd look at the news – at places like Gaza and Congo, at the suffering and injustice – and a stark contrast emerged. How can we reconcile these things? For me, the original statement, 'If you choose to ignore the brutality within your Bible, it’s no wonder the evils of the world persist today,' really hit home. It’s not about rejecting faith entirely for everyone, but about genuinely grappling with the uncomfortable parts. We often cherry-pick verses that bring comfort, but what about the narratives that describe violence, conquest, or harsh judgments? When we sweep those under the rug, we create a convenient narrative that might not reflect reality. This selective interpretation can, I've observed, pave the way for certain attitudes. Think about the idea of a 'christian grifter.' This isn't just about someone taking money; it's often about spiritual manipulation, using a façade of piety to avoid accountability or to promote a narrow, self-serving agenda. When the core texts are interpreted to justify certain behaviors or to ignore suffering, it can create a breeding ground for those who prioritize their own gain over genuine compassion. I've personally seen how a rigid adherence to certain doctrines, sometimes even the 'one way Jesus sign' mentality, can inadvertently foster a lack of empathy for those outside the perceived 'right' path. It can lead to judgment rather than understanding, making it easier to ignore the plight of others. The image I saw, juxtaposing serene cherry blossoms with a blood-splattered window mentioning global crises, perfectly captures this internal conflict. It’s the dissonance between the preached ideal and the lived experience of the world. My own spiritual awakening wasn't about abandoning my moral compass, but about recalibrating it. It became about questioning narratives that encourage silence in the face of injustice. If 'good people are silent,' as the original post suggests, how much responsibility do we bear when we uphold interpretations that allow for brutality, whether historical or contemporary, to be overlooked? It’s a deeply personal journey, moving from blind acceptance to critical examination. The practicality of faith, for me, now lies in its ability to inspire genuine action for good, rather than providing an escape from difficult truths. It means asking tough questions about power, privilege, and pain, and not just accepting easy answers. This perspective, I believe, is crucial if we truly want to heal the 'stain' and address the 'evils of the world' that continue to challenge our humanity.

There’s two types of Christians the fake ones who use the Bible to hate and shame others who say your going to hell then the real Christian who like to have honest conversations about Christ the ones who if your willing to listen will tell you the news not shove it down your throat. The ones who have read the Bible but won’t use it as a weapon. For my Christianity is not a religion it’s a lifestyle.

I'm a Christian. I love Jesus. I believe everyone is created equal. I don't support violence. my pastor is a good man. Jesus loves everyone, but He still calls us out of sin. I'm not a hypocrite. I'm not a racist, a bigot, or a liar. I want everyone to know that EVERYONE has sinned, but God loves all of us, and offers us eternal life

We complicate Christianity so much.

This is not “cute Christianity”. This is war.
The enemy is strategic. He studies your weaknesses. He aims at your mind, your heart, your peace, your faith, your identity. And too many of us are stepping into the fight with no armor on. #bibletalk #christiancontent #christians #biblejournaling #bibleverses

Two smiling women hold flower baskets in a vibrant tulip field, introducing a quote about Jesus's warning against being lukewarm, not atheist.
lukewarm christianity is worst than atheism
lukewarm christianity is dangerous because it feels safe. it keeps the name of Jesus but removes the weight of obedience. it posts bible verses but avoids repentance. it says “God knows my heart” while ignoring what He said. atheism is honest disbelief. lukewarm faith is self deception.
