It’s okay if you don’t have it all figured out.

Hey SGFC Fam!

Happy Monday! Have you ever felt behind?

Growing up, we’ve always been taught to plan ahead.

Think about what we wanna be when we grow up.

Where we wanna be in 10 years. 20 years.

“If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.”

And because of that, sometimes we get so obsessed with goals that we start feeling guilty whenever we’re not hustling towards the next one.

Like if we slow down, we’re somehow falling behind.

But the truth is - most plans don’t go according to plan anyway. 😂

And that’s why these days, I’ve stopped planning so damn far ahead.

Don’t get me wrong. I still have things I’m working on.

But I don’t have detailed 10 or 20-year plan anymore because I know life will change, circumstances will change, and my maturity will grow too.

These days I focus a lot more on my daily happiness.

Because just like investing, your daily decisions compound too.

Make choices that make you a little happier each day, and hopefully, they compound into a happier life.

Don’t lose track of today while fighting so hard for tomorrow.

Your goals matter. But don’t forget to enjoy your life while getting there. ❤️

... Read moreReflecting on my own experiences, I’ve found that surrendering the need for a rigid life plan has been surprisingly freeing. Like the article suggests, life rarely unfolds according to any script we write for ourselves. I remember spending my 20s obsessing over where I’d be in 10 years—career goals, financial stability, personal milestones—and feeling stressed whenever things didn’t align perfectly. Over the years, I shifted my focus from distant goals to daily satisfaction and meaningful moments. I started valuing small wins, like finishing a book I loved, having a peaceful walk, or connecting with friends. These small daily choices, much like the compound interest in investing, gradually built a life that felt more joyful and authentic. It’s important to acknowledge that while setting goals provides direction, becoming obsessed with them can lead to burnout and dissatisfaction. Life is dynamic: priorities change, opportunities arise unexpectedly, and sometimes we need to pivot. For example, I once planned a corporate career path but later discovered my passion for creative work and made a complete turnaround. I’ve also learned that sharing vulnerability about not having it all figured out helps cultivate support and reduces the stigma of uncertainty. It’s comforting to realize that many successful and happy people didn’t follow a straight line—they adapted, grew, and found contentment in the journey. Incorporating intentional living into daily routines—like putting down the phone at dinner, making time for loved ones, and pursuing activities that energize us—adds meaning beyond traditional achievements. Life isn’t just about the destination but also the experience along the way. So, if you ever feel behind or pressured, remind yourself that flexibility, self-compassion, and focus on present happiness will compound into a resilient and fulfilling life. Embrace the unexpected, celebrate your progress, and remember that it’s okay not to have all the answers right now.
