Your Knee needs to be Flexible as well!
In my journey to better knee health, I found that incorporating a variety of flexibility exercises made a noticeable difference in comfort and mobility. One key routine involves both internal and external rotation of the knee while keeping it bent at 90°, which helps maintain the joint’s natural range of motion. Sitting upright next to a sofa or coffee table made these stretches easier and more stable. Knee flexion exercises, such as kneeling stretches, target the muscles around the joint and improve bending ability. If you experience difficulty, supporting yourself with your hands or placing a small towel behind the knee can help manage discomfort during stretches. Additionally, gentle knee extension exercises assist if your knee cannot straighten fully; using your other leg to apply slight pressure can increase flexibility gradually and safely. I also discovered that consistent practice is important for ligament and muscle support around the knee, which can reduce issues like stiffness and pain associated with conditions such as synovitis or runner’s knee. Alongside exercise, paying attention to hydration and joint lubrication is beneficial. For those dealing with specific challenges such as genu recurvatum or osteoarthritis-induced stiffness, incorporating isometric quad and popliteus strengthening exercises under guidance can enhance joint stability. Listening to your body and modifying exercise intensity helps prevent injury and promotes long-term knee health. Remember, strong and flexible knees contribute to overall mobility and quality of life. Making these exercises part of your routine can support recovery and prevent future knee problems.
