Growing up, I never really understood or appreciated the importance of cleaning my room and cooking meals for myself. These activities often felt like tedious chores imposed by parents. However, as I got older and started living on my own, I realized they are actually vital forms of self-care and contribute significantly to my wellbeing. Cleaning your space does more than just create a neat environment; it can clear your mind and reduce stress. A clutter-free room helps me focus better, feel calmer, and even sleep more peacefully. When I clean, it’s like I’m intentionally taking care of my personal space, which translates to caring for myself. Similarly, cooking is an act of love toward oneself. Preparing meals allows me to choose nourishing ingredients that fuel my body and improve my mood throughout the day. It also gives me a sense of accomplishment and independence. I also want to highlight a powerful lesson: teaching children that cleaning the house and cooking aren’t just chores but acts of self-care and family love.
