Day 1 of Yoga
So today, marks day one as start my journey to becoming a Yogi Mom. The pose that I decided to share is a beginner pose. Child's pose is a restorative pose and has many benefits, such as being incredibly calming, relieving muscle tension, lengthening the spine, and creating mobility in the hips. As you can see, l am not at a point where I can sit my butt all the way on my feet, but that comes with time. Child's pose is a pose that you can always return to no matter what if the work that you're doing is too hard if you injured yourself in a pose or you just need a break. #yogajourney #yogavibes #momsoflemon8 #Fitness #unfiltered
Embarking on a yoga journey can feel both exciting and intimidating, especially for beginners like myself. Starting with Child's Pose, also known as Balasana, has been a gentle and effective way to ease into a consistent practice. This pose serves as a resting posture that you can revert to whenever you feel overwhelmed, tired, or in need of a mental and physical break. One of the reasons I love Child's Pose is because it’s highly adaptable. Don't worry if you can't sit your hips fully on your heels at first—flexibility and comfort in this pose will develop steadily with regular practice. Adding props like a cushion or blanket under your hips can also provide extra support. Aside from its calming effect on the mind and body, Child's Pose offers tangible physical benefits. It gently stretches the lower back, hips, and thighs, which helps relieve tightness from daily activities like sitting or standing for long periods. This makes it a perfect pose not just for yoga practitioners but for anyone looking to reduce stress and improve posture. In my early days of yoga, coming back to Child's Pose often helped me reset during more challenging poses or sequences. It reminded me to listen to my body, respect its limits, and celebrate progress no matter how small. This beginner-friendly approach fosters patience and consistency, which are crucial for long-term wellness. If you’re beginning your yoga journey, I encourage you to make Child’s Pose a go-to spot in your practice. Whether you’re feeling stiff, tense, or simply need a moment of peace, it supports your growth as a yogi by promoting relaxation and mindfulness. Remember, yoga is as much about tuning into your body’s needs as it is about movement, so embrace the process at your own pace and enjoy the journey ahead.
