“The hardest part about healing?

5/15 Edited to

... Read moreHealing is often portrayed as a straightforward journey of improvement, but in reality, it can be deeply complex. One of the most difficult aspects of healing is realizing that the standards we once held—our measures of self-worth—were established under survival mode during tough times. When life required us to endure hardship, we unknowingly adapted by lowering our expectations or setting boundaries that kept us safe but limited our growth. I’ve experienced this firsthand. After surviving a challenging period in my life, I thought healing simply meant returning to a previous version of myself. However, the hardest part was acknowledging that my survival tactics had become outdated standards that no longer served me. For example, I often underestimated my own value or avoided pursuing what truly made me happy because I was still operating under those old restrictions. Self-healing involves rewiring these ingrained beliefs and redefining what self-worth means beyond survival. It means asking yourself new questions: What do I deserve now? How can I support my growth rather than just my survival? This shift can feel uncomfortable because it challenges the safety nets we've relied on, but it is essential for authentic healing. In practical terms, I started journaling my thoughts and feelings about past experiences and how they shaped my self-perception. I also sought supportive communities focused on growth rather than trauma survival. Over time, this helped me set healthier boundaries and pursue goals aligned with my true values. If you’re on a similar journey, know that it’s okay to grieve the loss of old standards while embracing new possibilities for self-worth. Healing is not just about fixing damage but about evolving into a more empowered version of yourself. Reflect on your survival strategies and consider how they might be limiting your healing. Embrace self-compassion and patience—the process takes time but leads to profound freedom and growth.

Hard part of Healing
Many people talk about how it’s hard to heal because of the ups and downs or the triggers but they don’t really talk about the isolation. The more I heal the more I realize … 1. The isolation you put yourself into because you start to realize people aren’t who you thought they were and the w
