How I Take

2024/11/27 Edited to

... Read moreHey everyone! So many of you asked about my college notes, especially how I keep them looking super aesthetic while tackling complex subjects like medical terminology. It's not just about pretty colors; it's about making information stick! I truly believe that organized, visually appealing notes can transform your study sessions from a chore into something genuinely engaging. First off, let's talk about tools. You don't need anything fancy, but a good set of colored pens (I love fine-liners!), highlighters, and a quality notebook make a world of difference. For medical terminology, I assign specific colors to different elements: maybe blue for prefixes, green for root words, and pink for suffixes. This immediate visual cue helps my brain break down complex terms like 'pericarditis' (peri- around, cardi- heart, -itis inflammation) without even thinking. Organization is key, as my notes on 'Chapter 4: Human Body In Health and Disease' show. I always start with clear headings for each chapter or topic. Underneath, I use bullet points or numbered lists for core concepts like anatomy, physiology, tissue types, and organ systems. I leave plenty of white space around diagrams or important definitions – it makes the page feel less overwhelming and easier to scan during review. For 'Chapter 3: Understanding Prefixes,' I group them by number, quantity, location, and time, drawing little icons next to them. This visual grouping, along with adding color, really reinforces memorization. When I'm diving into specific systems, like the 'Chapter 6: Skeletal and Muscular System' or 'Chapter 9: Respiratory System,' I focus on condensing information. I'll create small tables for key terms and components, or flowcharts for processes. For the respiratory system, highlighting combining forms and their definitions has been a game-changer. And for challenging topics like the male and female reproductive systems, or the intricacies of the 'Lymphatic System and Immunology' covering blood disorders, innate and adaptive immunity, I use mini-mind maps or even simple, quick sketches to illustrate concepts. Remember that 'lightbulb graphic' you might have seen in my notes? Simple doodles can make a huge impact! Don't be afraid to experiment with different layouts for different topics. Sometimes a simple list works, other times a more intricate diagram is needed. The goal is clarity and retention. And yes, I always try to be neat! It makes revisiting notes so much less daunting. When I add 'MORE COLOR' or 'MORE NOTES' to a page, it's often to highlight additional insights or connections I've made during lectures or readings. Ultimately, creating aesthetic college notes isn't just about making them look pretty; it's about creating a study tool that actively helps you learn and recall information. Give it a try – you might just find your learning journey becomes a lot more colorful and effective!
