Bridge over the River Kwai, Kanchanaburi.
The Bridge over the River Kwai is a major historical tourist attraction in Kanchanaburi Province. Built in World War II, the bridge used the labor of tens of thousands of prisoners of war to form part of the strategic railway line linking from Thailand to Myanma.
The bridge was heavily bombed by Allied soldiers before it was later purchased and rebuilt by the Thai government. The bridge is now still in normal use and open for tourists to walk, photograph and view the Kwai River closely. Be careful when trains pass by.
