How to set custom folder icons for app folders
You know that default folder you get whenever to combine apps on an iPad? Well let me show you how to change the icon without compromising the folder functionality. ⬇️
✳️ Open up the Shortcuts app and create a new one
✳️ Go to the SCRIPTING CATEGORY and select “Choose from Menu” function
✳️ It’s going to create a list and you want to put the NAME of the apps you want to include in the group.
✳️ Next, you need to add the “Open App” function. Add this function as many times as needed to have one for every app listed from the previous step.
**EX: If you have the apps (GoodNotes and Slack) listed, then add this function twice.
✳️ When you add the functions, make sure to move one underneath each app listed like shown above. This will assign this specific action with the specific item list.
✳️ When you’re ready, select Share and then Add to Home Screen.
✳️ Click the icon to change it and assign your desired icon from your photos.
✳️ Assign your folder a name and click the Add button.
And now you’re all done, you’ve successfully set a custom folder icon on your iPad! ✨
