I hate being sensitive

Why is it that the second I try to open up, my body betrays me?? Like I’ll barely get two words out and suddenly I look like I’m about to have a breakdown 😩 It makes me not even want to talk about my feelings sometimes.

Anyone else cry when they’re mad, nervous, or just trying to be serious?? Because same.

... Read moreIt's so validating to hear others feel this way! Honestly, sometimes I feel like I'm living with a secret superpower that just goes haywire at the worst times. You know, that moment when you're trying to have a serious conversation, maybe even stand up for yourself, and suddenly your throat tightens, your eyes well up, and your voice starts to crack? It's like my body completely betrays my intentions, making me look weak or overly emotional when all I want to do is express myself clearly. That feeling of being 'cooked' emotionally when tears start watering up is just too real. I've spent so much time wondering, 'Why do I get hurt so easily?' It's not just about crying; it's about how deeply I feel things. A casual comment can sting for days, a small disappointment can feel like a major setback, and perceived injustices can send me into a spiral. It's exhausting carrying that weight, feeling every emotion magnified. And the embarrassment? Oh, the embarrassment! Especially in professional settings or when discussing something important with loved ones. I hate that my sensitivity can be misinterpreted as childishness or a lack of control. It makes me want to withdraw, to just keep everything bottled up inside, which we all know isn't healthy. This struggle has led me to search for ways to manage it, or at least understand it better. I've seen things like natural remedies, like people trying 'Hops + Valerian' for calming, and it makes me wonder if there are ways to soothe that intense emotional response. It's not about trying to 'fix' being sensitive, because I've come to realize that my sensitivity also makes me deeply empathetic and intuitive. But it is about finding a balance, so I can express myself without feeling overwhelmed by my own reactions. Learning to acknowledge these feelings without judgment has been a huge step. Instead of hating myself for crying, I'm trying to tell myself, 'It's okay to feel deeply.' It's a journey, not a destination. Maybe it's about finding safe spaces and people who understand, people who won't judge the tears but will hear the words behind them. Or perhaps it's about learning subtle ways to compose myself before emotions completely take over. It's a daily challenge, but knowing I'm not alone in this makes a huge difference. What strategies have you tried to navigate your own sensitivity?

Me too girl, mad or sad or serious the tears come. Even when I’m not upset. Weirdly sometimes i’ll be totally fine until someone says “don’t cry” or “it’s okay” or something along those lines and only then do i start tearing up? It’s like a weird trigger for me idk.

You’re not cooked, you’re just human as f***. Your eyes water because you actually give a sh*t. That’s literally it. Ppl act like crying or choking up is some weakness. It’s not. It’s truth coming outta your body. The only thing ‘cooked’ is thinking you need to hide it. 💯😎

being a H.S.P (highly sensitive person) is a gift! but you have to learn to adapt to it, or it can easily feel like a burden. very simply put, being a hsp means: a) you’re highly sensitive to your environment, relationships, and pace of life b) you probably need a little more replenishment tha
