Btw My parents divorced a few years ago.

My parents divorced a few years ago. My dad enrolled me in a boarding school that has amazing support for ADHD/autism, and it’s the first time I’ve actually done well in school. I love it here, I have friends, therapy, and I finally feel like I belong.

My mom moved out of state after the divorce. She doesn’t call or visit, and when we do talk, it’s usually about her struggles. Recently, she asked me to tell my dad to let her live in the apartment he rents near my school. That’s the place he stays on weekends so he can visit me.

I told her no — I don’t want to lose time with my dad, especially since he’s the only one consistently showing up for me. Now she’s mad and ignoring me again.

I feel guilty, but also… why should I have to give up seeing my dad just because she wants somewhere to stay?

She's a grown woman. She needs to talk to him herself. It's not right to put you in the middle. She probably knows he will say no to her.

You aren’t the go between. She is an adult. She needs to act like it
