Roses are one of the most beloved flowers worldwide, renowned for their beauty, fragrance, and symbolism. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced gardener, understanding the different types of roses and how to care for them can make a big difference in your gardening success. There are several popular varieties of roses including hybrid teas, floribundas, grandifloras, climbers, and shrub roses. Each has unique features: hybrid teas are known for their large, classic blooms ideal for cutting; floribundas offer clusters of flowers providing colorful displays; climbers can cover trellises and walls with their vigorous growth; and shrub roses are hardy and low maintenance, perfect for landscaping. Proper rose care involves choosing the right location with at least six hours of sunlight daily and well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Regular watering is essential, especially during dry spells, but it’s important to avoid wetting the leaves excessively to prevent fungal diseases. Applying a balanced fertilizer during the growing season helps promote healthy growth and abundant blooms. Pruning is another critical aspect—removing dead or weak stems encourages new growth and improves air circulation. Prune roses in early spring before new shoots appear, shaping the plant and removing any crossing branches. Additionally, pest management is key. Aphids, spider mites, and black spot are common issues; using natural remedies or appropriate horticultural oils can help keep these problems under control. Roses also have symbolic meanings: red roses symbolize love and passion, white roses indicate purity, and yellow roses represent friendship. This symbolism makes roses a popular choice not only for gardens but also for special occasions and gifts. In summary, with the right care and knowledge of different rose varieties, you can enjoy vibrant, fragrant roses that enhance the beauty of your garden or home environment. Regular maintenance and attention to your roses’ needs will ensure they thrive season after season.

Roses really smell like…

I was expecting a more candied sweet scent but that's not the case. On my skin, I get a more citris musk with a little sweetness from the base. The rose note doesn't last very long. If you've tried this one, l'd love to hear your thoughts. #fragrancecollection #arabperfume
