wedding venue: mandarin oriental ✨

finally doing a review of my wedding venue: mandarin oriental! 🏨

✨ORIENTAL BALLROOM✨

- wide format with short aisle (my preference), long led screen

- located right at level 1, with direct access to the bridal parking lots

- guests can either enter through the main lobby or the doors that lead directly to ballroom

- reception area was sufficiently separated from main lobby and also spacious

- bridal changing room (no toilet tho!) right next to the ballroom so you don’t have to go all the way upstairs to change

- fits my 20 tables perfectly! not squeezy

✨HOTEL✨

- newly renovated and brightly lit, love the oriental theme

- very classy vibes

- not quite close to the mrt unfortunately

✨WEDDING PACKAGE✨

they’re very transparent with their package. whatever was offered on the first day we met was what we got, there were never any requests for top-ups and what not. and the package was all-encompassing (imo) so i didn’t see the need to add-on anything really. some of the things that we really appreciated were:

- waiver of corkage

- free use of a smaller room overlooking the marina bay area for solemnisation/tea ceremony

- two nights stay (this was soooo useful cos you’ll really only get proper rest and enjoyment on the second night 😮‍💨)

- one night anniversary stay (claimable within a year - i claimed it during this year’s ndp rehearsal for the fireworks 🎇)

- basic floral decoration included (was sufficient for me tbh)

🍴 FOOD

food-tasting was arranged about a month prior to the wedding. you choose your preferred dishes, send them to your wedding coordinator and it’ll all be prepared. up to 10 people can attend the tasting, which is quite generous i feel. they also include the wines for you to taste (though we didn’t have any). what we liked were:

- food was honestly pretty good, i liked most of the dishes. highly recommend the HONEY GLAZED SPARE RIBS 😋

- their cutlery were all custom-made for MO, so they’re rly pretty (not just your regular white plates)

- chef comes out to meet you after to get your opinion on all the dishes and what changes you’d like. he can also recommend alternatives if you don’t like a particular ingredient.

- service at food tasting was TOP NOTCH 💯

small bonus: whenever we had to meet our wedding coordinator for a discussion he’d always bring us to their cafe at level 1 and give us free desserts 🥹 plus drinks. and those were SO GOOD omg 😋

follow for my review on how my actual day with MO went!! > part 2!

... Read moreIf you’re considering the Mandarin Oriental for your wedding, it’s helpful to know more about the overall costs and package details beyond the initial impressions. While my experience emphasized transparency and value, I found it useful to directly inquire about the wedding package pricing and inclusions to avoid surprises. Typically, the banquet price varies depending on the day of the week and menu selection, so it’s worth asking for the latest rates and any promotions available for 2025 or upcoming seasons. The Oriental Ballroom’s capacity and layout make it ideal for a medium-sized reception without feeling cramped, which adds comfort for your guests. Additionally, the package’s inclusion of a smaller solemnisation/tea ceremony room overlooking Marina Bay is a rare and lovely bonus, which many couples overlook but enhances the flow of the wedding day. If you are planning a lunch reception or looking for options outside evening dinners, Mandarin Oriental also offers different meal pricing formats; it’s good to confirm if there are any price differences or special menus. Those choosing the hotel for convenience will appreciate the two-night stay and anniversary night benefits, which help extend the experience beyond the wedding day. Lastly, the food tasting experience stands out for the highly personalized service and chef interaction, making it easy to customize your menu to suit your taste perfectly. If you’re a foodie couple, this is definitely a highlight worth considering. Overall, be sure to clarify all banquet and package pricing upfront, and ask about any corkage policies or additional fees. The Mandarin Oriental exudes classy vibes and offers many practical perks, making it a great contender for couples wanting elegance with transparent pricing. I hope these insights help you navigate the Mandarin Oriental wedding packages and pricing more confidently!
