Sometimes it’s the universe, and sometimes it’s self-inflicted…
Navigating life’s ups and downs often requires us to discern whether the challenges we face are influenced by external forces or by our own choices. I’ve found that acknowledging this distinction can be incredibly empowering. When setbacks feel like they stem from the universe, it can be comforting to remember that not everything is within our control, allowing us to practice acceptance and patience. On the other hand, reflecting on moments when difficulties are self-inflicted often leads to valuable personal growth. For instance, poor decisions, procrastination, or avoiding necessary confrontations can create obstacles that we have a direct hand in. Recognizing these patterns enables us to take responsibility and make changes to improve future outcomes. In my experience, journaling about these moments helps clarify whether the source of struggle is external or internal. Additionally, talking through these reflections with trusted friends or mentors can provide new perspectives. Ultimately, balancing acceptance of the universe’s role with personal accountability has been key to developing resilience and finding peace amidst life’s uncertainties.
