I'm Back! And With More Tips ✨

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind! I finally moved (yay!), but truthfully… it took more or of me than I expected.

I’ve missed creating. I’ve missed learning. But I also know I need to honor my energy instead of burning myself out. So I’m easing back in slowly.

And since creativity doesn’t always wait until life is settled, I wanted to share a few Canva tips that have been helping me stay connected to my process, even on the days when my brain feels like mush. 😖

These are small tips. But they make a big difference, especially when you’re short on time, or just too tired to wrestle with your design.

Here’s what’s been helping me:

💡 Group + Lock your elements:

So you can arrange things once, and not fight with your layout later. I group text boxes, shapes, and icons together when I like how they look. Then I lock them in place so I don’t accidentally move things around mid-edit. It's such a simple way to keep your design clean and calm.

💡 Use frames for an effortless aesthetic:

Dragging a photo into a circle, polaroid, or phone frame instantly gives it a polished look without needing to resize or layer. It’s my favorite shortcut when I want something that feels designed without having to design it from scratch.

💡 Search smarter, not harder:

Instead of typing in general terms like “flower” or “workspace,” I search by vibe: soft pink florals, neutral flat lay, minimal plant shelf. Canva’s search responds to your language, so be specific about your aesthetic and it’ll show up.

💡 Use Canva Docs to plan + design in one place:

Sometimes the hardest part of designing is just figuring out what you want to say. That’s where Canva Docs saves me. I can now open a Docs page right inside my design - thanks to their new update. Whether I’m drafting a caption, outlining a post, or scripting a Reel, I can do it all without switching apps or losing momentum. It makes the process feel more peaceful and streamlined.

I hope these tips meet you wherever you are in your creative flow - whether you're building with full energy or just showing up as best you can today.

You don’t need to do the most to create something meaningful. Let it be soft. Let it be simple. Let it be you.

More soon 🤍

... Read moreCreating visually appealing designs doesn't have to be a daunting task, especially with tools like Canva. For those new to graphic design or looking to enhance their workflow, Canva offers innovative features that can simplify the design process. Start with basic techniques like grouping elements. This allows you to create cohesive layouts effortlessly. By grouping similar components, you can manage your design more effectively, preventing accidental shifts during editing. Locking your designs in place ensures that your carefully organized elements remain undisturbed. Another feature to explore is the frame tool. This essential tool provides a polished finish to images without extensive editing. By dragging your images into predefined frames, you can achieve a professional look in seconds—ideal for busy individuals needing quick yet attractive designs. Additionally, consider the power of specialized keyword searches within Canva. Instead of sifting through endless results, input specific phrases that match your aesthetic. For instance, searching 'soft pastel florals' instead of simply 'flowers' can yield more relevant results that align with your vision. Lastly, embrace Canva Docs as part of your design process. This feature allows for seamless integration of brainstorming and designing in one workspace. Draft captions, plan posts, or script videos without the hassle of switching between apps, helping you maintain your creative momentum. These straightforward strategies are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to harnessing Canva's full potential. Whether you are easing back into creativity or starting fresh, letting your designs reflect your personal style can lead to authentic and impactful creations.
