Habits I’m Trying In My 20s So My 30s Feel Easier

I catch myself thinking about the future a lot. About the life I want to live in my 30s, where I want to be, etc. And I’ve realized it’s the habits I’m practicing right now, in small and big ways, that will shape it.

1. I say “no” without guilt when my schedule is packed. It feels strange at first (and a little scary!), but it’s freeing.

2. I invest a little money even when it feels too early. Tiny actions now make bigger freedom later. Even if it’s $5, my future self will thank me.

3. I spend time on passion projects after my 9-5, even when I’m tired. These are the things that feed me creatively, and it helps boost my mental health.

4. I journal through the messy thoughts I can’t sort in my head. It’s like having a conversation with myself. After I’ve written it all down, I usually see things in a more positive way.

5. I keep promises to myself, even if it’s just showing up for 10 minutes. Trusting myself matters more than I realized.

6. I treat discipline like self-respect, not punishment. It’s easier to stick to habits when I reframe them as care. Plus, it makes it more fun!

I notice that even doing one of these things each day makes me feel lighter and more intentional. Right now, I’m focusing on showing up for myself more than anyone else.

What are some new habits you are trying out? Let’s share!
