Being an Ayato main in Genshin Impact is truly an experience, and I totally get that feeling of pulling off some wild stunts and thinking you're the coolest thing since sliced bread! For a strong Freeze team, pairing him with Cryo characters like Ganyu, Kaeya, or even Layla, alongside an Anemo crowd control unit like Kazuha or Venti, creates an unstoppable force. The constant Hydro application from Ayato’s Elemental Skill makes freezing enemies a breeze, giving you ample time to dish out damage without interruption. Then there are the Vaporize teams! While sometimes a bit trickier to set up perfectly, the damage numbers you can achieve are insane. Xingqiu or Yelan can provide off-field Hydro, allowing a Pyro main DPS to trigger Vaporize, or you can have Ayato be the trigger with characters like Xiangling. The key is consistent application and managing elemental gauges. I've also had a blast running Electro-Charged teams with characters like Raiden Shogun or Fischl, creating a chain reaction of damage that's incredibly satisfying, especially against groups of enemies. The synergy with characters like Dendro's Nahida or Alhaitham, too, opens up even more powerful Bloom and Hyperbloom reactions, making him even more flexible now. Beyond just teams, optimizing his build is crucial for any Ayato Genshin main. While I've tried various artifact sets, Heart of Depth used to be a staple, boosting his Hydro DMG and Normal Attack DMG after his skill. Nowadays, Nymph's Dream can offer even stronger buffs if you manage the stacks. For weapons, his signature Haran Geppaku Futsu is obviously top-tier, but options like Mistsplitter Reforged, Primordial Jade Cutter, or even more accessible 4-star weapons like Amenoma Kageuchi or Black Sword can make him a formidable force. I remember one specific challenge during his Story Quest, or even just fighting tough bosses like the Electro Hypostasis. At first, I struggled with its vulnerability phases, but once I honed my Ayato’s rotation and understood how his burst could help with consistent Hydro application even when I couldn't get close, it became so much easier. His range and ability to dish out damage quickly in short windows are perfect for these kinds of encounters. It’s those moments, successfully clearing a difficult boss or finally perfecting a rotation, that make being an Ayato main so rewarding. There were definitely times when I’d try some “dumb bs” like attempting to clear Spiral Abyss floors with completely unoptimized teams, just to see what would happen. And sometimes, surprisingly, it worked out, making me feel like a genius! Other times, it was a hilarious disaster, but always a learning experience. That’s the beauty of Genshin Impact and maining a character you love – there's always something new to discover or a new way to enjoy the game. Kamisato Ayato truly offers a dynamic and engaging playstyle that keeps things fresh, whether you're exploring Inazuma, diving into his story, or just having fun in the open world.
