God put something on my heart tonight and I felt led to share this with everyone too. I’ve been struggling to find words for everything that has happened lately, but tonight God told me what to say!! (Yes this is a real story this isn’t one of those “share if you agree” trends)
It’s not often that I read straight from the Bible because I’ve always struggled with understanding exactly what it’s saying or what it means. My reading comprehension tends to be below average sometimes.. but tonight I saw a random video showing scriptures to read for different emotions you may go through. After I looked up a specific one 1 Kings 19:4 , I felt the need to keep reading, it was a STRONG feeling. But when I got to this section I was absolutely shocked by what was being said and how fitting it is to what’s going on in the world now.
From this I realized that we’re always told that God has a step by step plan for us and to trust him. But in times like this it can be hard to wonder why such bad things happen and how could this be the plan he has for us? But that’s the thing, he isn’t necessarily in the bad things. He is right by us the whole time as our strength, hope, and support through it so we’re never alone!❤️

... Read moreI know many of you might feel the same way I did – sometimes opening the Bible feels overwhelming, and it's hard to know where to start, especially when you're searching for answers or comfort during tough times. I used to struggle with understanding what the scriptures truly meant, thinking my reading comprehension wasn't good enough. But lately, I’ve found that God meets us exactly where we are, and sometimes, all it takes is one powerful verse to shift everything.
My experience with 1 Kings 19 was a real breakthrough for me, especially when I felt like I was losing hope. The story of Elijah, who felt completely alone and even wished to die, resonated deeply. He was running from threats, exhausted, and felt utterly forsaken. It made me realize that even the greatest prophets faced moments of despair, just like we do. What truly amazed me was how God revealed Himself to Elijah. Not in the powerful wind that tore through the mountains, nor in the earthquake that shook the ground, nor even in the roaring fire that followed. He wasn't in the grand, dramatic displays, but rather in a gentle whisper after all the chaos had passed. This taught me that when we’re looking for peace in hard times, we shouldn’t always expect a dramatic intervention. Often, God's presence is found in the quiet moments, in that 'still, small voice' that brings an unshakeable strength.
For anyone feeling overwhelmed or wondering what to read in the Bible when you feel hopeless, I've found that focusing on verses about God's presence and strength can be incredibly grounding. Beyond 1 Kings 19, which truly speaks to finding God in the quiet amidst the storm, here are a few others that have blessed me and helped me trust God more:
For peace in hard times: Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us not to worry but to pray, promising a peace that transcends all understanding. It reminds me that even when my mind is racing, God can guard my heart and mind.
When you need strength: Isaiah 41:10 is a beautiful reminder: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” This verse has been a lifeline for me, proving that God truly is my strength.
For hope when you feel forsaken: Romans 15:13 speaks of the God of hope filling you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him. It’s a wonderful promise that even when things seem bleak, joy and peace are possible through faith.
These are not just religious quotes; they are living words that offer practical comfort and guidance. I’ve learned that the more you trust God, the more He amazes you. These verses aren't just for reading; they're for holding onto, meditating on, and allowing them to bring about a breakthrough in your spirit. God sees us in our struggles, and His words truly are flawless, providing unwavering support and reminding us that we are never alone, no matter how turbulent the wind, earthquake, or fire of life gets. His gentle whisper is always there, waiting for us to listen.
Lifting you up in prayers and asking God to give you the strength during your time of hardship ❤️
