Cantonese Soy Sauce Chow Mein 🥢 Easy Recipe! 😋
A classic Cantonese dish that goes with everything!
Ingredients:
- Fresh chow mein (HK pan-frying noodles)
- 1 white onion
- 3 green onions
- Garlic chives (a handful)
- Light soy sauce 2 tbsp
- Mushroom dark soy sauce 1 tbsp
- Sugar 1/2 tbsp
- Oyster sauce 1 tsp
Instructions:
1. Blanch noodles in boiling water + oil for 2 mins or until noodles are just cooked through
2. Drain with a sieve
3. Make the sauce. Mix soy sauces and sugar together.
4. Chop up onions, garlic chives and separate green onions whites from green
5. Sauté them for 30 sec in oil until fragrant and remove
6. Keep fragrant oil in the pan and turn up the heat to high
7. Add in the noodles and fry it off until it’s dry and slightly crispy on the edges. Use a chopstick to loosen it up (about 3 mins)
8. Add in the sauce and mix thoroughly
9. Lastly, add back in the onions along with the garlic chives and green onion greens
10. Enjoy!
