Beyond physical deterrents, creating a squirrel-friendly area away from birdfeeders—such as a platform feeder stocked with nuts and corn—can distract squirrels and reduce their attempts to invade birdfeeding spots. Having a variety of birdfeeders at different heights on your front porch and garden also encourages birds to visit more freely without competition from squirrels. Through trial and error, I realized patience and persistence pay off when baffling squirrels. Keeping feeders clean and placing fresh bird seed regularly invites more birds and reduces spoilage, contributing to a welcoming environment.
