Myth or Fact: 6 PM Rule
Weight loss isn’t about meal time but food choices. Snack smart! #HealthyLiving #eLEAD
One thing I realized during my weight loss journey is that the time of day when you eat is much less important than what you actually eat. The '6 PM rule' claims that not eating after 6 pm leads to weight loss, but this is largely a myth. Our metabolism fluctuates throughout the day, but avoiding food in the evening doesn't guarantee fat loss. Often, late-night snacking is driven by stress or boredom rather than true hunger. Instead of focusing strictly on the clock, paying attention to hunger cues and choosing nutritious snacks has been much more helpful. For example, I swap out chips or sweets for a handful of nuts or fruit during an evening snack. Additionally, balanced daily meals and moderate portions throughout the day support steady metabolism and avoid overeating at night. Remember, sustainable weight loss comes from consistent healthy habits rather than strict eating windows. Incorporating these insights helped me feel less restricted and more in control of my eating, leading to lasting results. So if you’re struggling, try focusing on food quality and mindful eating instead of rigid timing rules.
