Coffee on Empty OK

... Read moreMany people worry that drinking coffee on an empty stomach might cause digestive discomfort or worsen gut conditions, but recent research has put these concerns to rest. Studies show there's no direct link between coffee consumption on an empty stomach and gastrointestinal issues such as dyspepsia, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, gastritis, or inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). From personal experience, I used to avoid coffee before meals because I thought it might upset my stomach, especially in the mornings. However, after gradually incorporating coffee into my morning routine on an empty stomach, I noticed no adverse digestive effects. Instead, the coffee helped me feel more alert and ready to start the day without discomfort. It's important to note that individual tolerance varies. Some people might have sensitivity to coffee’s acidity or caffeine, which can sometimes cause mild discomfort. If you find coffee irritates your stomach, you might consider options like cold brew, lower-acid blends, or pairing coffee with a light snack. Moreover, coffee contains antioxidants and compounds that may positively impact gut health by promoting the growth of beneficial gut bacteria. This adds another angle to why moderate coffee intake—even on an empty stomach—can be part of a healthy lifestyle. In conclusion, the fear that coffee damages the gut when consumed on an empty stomach lacks strong scientific evidence. Enjoying coffee mindfully, paying attention to your body's responses, and choosing quality coffee can help you savor your cup without worry.

New Nanyang Kopitiam|This Ah Ma kaya toast mustry!
Family brunch around Bencoolen, we checked out this newly opened (about 1 month) spot — Wanglee Cafe ☕️, located inside Sunshine Plaza (honestly, I wouldn’t come to this mall if not for this cafe 😆). This is not a Western cafe, but a Nanyang-style kopitiam serving local SG–MY comfort food.
