whether through their direct judgment or their subtle tones of condescension, we have all experienced those muslims that try to make us feel small. as a non-hijabi muslim woman, i’ve dealt with this sooo much. people making assumptions about me, how much i practice, my relationship with Allah, etc. but please remember that they don’t know your standing with Allah. only Allah knows. and if these people hurt your heart, your feelings are valid & im sorry you experienced that💗 but pls remember their opinion of you means absolutely nothing.

... Read moreAs a non-hijabi Muslim woman, I know firsthand the weight of unwelcome judgment within and outside the Muslim community. Many of us face assumptions about our faith, practices, and connection with Allah simply because we choose not to wear the hijab. But it’s important to recognize that these judgments don’t reflect our true spirituality or worth. I’ve learned that the spiritual journey is deeply personal and unique to each individual. Wearing the hijab can indeed be a beautiful act of devotion, but not wearing it does not make someone a lesser Muslim. Our relationship with Allah is built on sincerity, intention, and personal struggle rather than outward appearances alone. When confronted by condescending attitudes or subtle tones that try to make you feel spiritually inferior, it’s vital to protect your heart and affirm your feelings. You are not alone in this experience. The opinions that try to diminish your faith are just that—opinions, not truths. Only Allah truly knows the depth of your commitment and the sincerity of your prayers. To fellow sisters feeling disheartened, I want to encourage you to stay safe, stay strong, and keep striving in your faith. Spiritual growth can flourish in many forms, so don’t let societal pressures dictate your self-worth or your relationship with Allah. Surround yourself with supportive friends or online communities that uplift and remind you of your intrinsic value. Remember the reminder often shared: not wearing the hijab does NOT make you a "lesser Muslim." Embrace your journey with confidence and compassion towards yourself and others. At the end of the day, your inner peace and connection with Allah are what truly matter.
