Turned my homescreen into a todo list w. Reminders

Dear, SweeTees 💌📱

BEFORE WE BEGIN:

I posted this before using pictures if it’s easier to follow.

If your brain feels full, your Home Screen shouldn’t.

Here’s my favorite productivity hack using Apple Reminders — turning my widgets into interactive to-do lists.

✨ Part 1: Create your lists

Open the Reminders app.

Tap the square + icon in the top right.

Select iCloud.

Name your list.

Choose a list type (or keep it standard).

Pick a color + icon (or leave it minimal).

Repeat for however many lists you need:

• Daily tasks

• Content planning

• Errands

• School

• Work

• Personal goals

✨ Part 2: Add the widget to your Home Screen

Long press anywhere on your Home Screen.

Tap Edit → Add Widgets.

Search Reminders.

Choose your size (I use small on my iPhone, medium on iPad).

Add as many as you need.

While still in wiggle mode, tap each widget → select the specific list you want displayed.

You can resize later by dragging the handle if you change your mind.

What makes this elite?

These widgets are interactive.

You can:

✔ Mark tasks complete directly from the Home Screen

✔ Tap the widget to instantly open the app

✔ Edit or add tasks in seconds

No extra planner app needed. No clutter. No overwhelm.

💜 Mini Must-Knows

• Use color-coded lists to visually separate life categories

• Keep your top 3 daily tasks visible only — less overwhelm

• Sync with iCloud so your lists update across iPhone + iPad

This setup makes your phone feel intentional instead of chaotic.

Minimal screen. Clear mind. Productive energy.

Save this for your next digital reset 💜

Follow for aesthetic tech + productivity tips.

-Sincerely,

Tee 💜🫶🏽

... Read moreEver felt like your brain is overflowing with tasks, but the moment you open your phone, all those to-dos vanish into the abyss of your mind? That was me, until I fully embraced turning my iPhone Home Screen into an interactive to-do list using Apple Reminders. It's not just a cool visual; it's a productivity game-changer that genuinely declutters my mental space and keeps me on track. The magic truly happens because your tasks are *always visible*. Instead of opening an app to remember what you need to do, it's just *there*. I've found this constant, gentle nudge prevents procrastination and makes me more proactive. For example, my “fenty am routine” list pops up first thing, ensuring I tick off my morning self-care without fail. Later, if I see “class discussion prep” on my screen, it's a quick tap to dive into Reminders and add notes or mark it complete. One of my favorite ways to maximize this setup is by getting really specific with my lists and their colors. Just like the article mentions, color-coding is key! I have a vibrant purple for personal goals, a calm blue for work projects, and a bright green for daily errands. This visual separation helps my brain instantly categorize what I'm looking at. For specific routines, like my “fenty pm routine,” I have a dedicated mini-widget. It ensures I don't miss a step in my evening wind-down, which is so important for consistency. Choosing the right widget size and placement is also crucial. On my main screen, I keep a small list of my absolute top 3 daily tasks – the non-negotiables. This prevents overwhelm. If I need more detail for a specific project, like drafting content or preparing for a “class discussion,” I might use a medium-sized widget on an adjacent screen, dedicated solely to that category. And yes, those little tasks like “iphone camera leveler check” before taking a photo? They go into a quick “misc. tech checks” list, ensuring I capture the perfect shot every time. What makes these widgets truly elite, beyond just seeing your tasks, is their interactivity. Being able to check off “g.r. toner pads u...” (my daily skincare reminder!) directly from the home screen is incredibly satisfying and saves so much time. If I suddenly remember something I need to add, a quick tap on the widget takes me straight to the list, where I can add a new item in seconds. This seamless flow eliminates friction from task management. Sometimes, you might notice a widget isn't updating immediately. Don't panic! A common fix is simply to force close the Reminders app and reopen it, or occasionally, restarting your phone. Most of the time, though, it syncs flawlessly thanks to iCloud, keeping everything updated across my iPhone and iPad. This setup isn't just about making a pretty home screen; it's about building a consistent, actionable system that truly supports a clearer mind and productive energy. Give it a try for your next digital reset; you won't regret it!
