Reads that like multiple POVs?

Readers answer this question for me.

I’m currently working on several pieces and this one has a reverse harm situation that takes places over the course of the book. Your introduced to the FMC right of the bat and then meet guy one the Panther Shifter.

The side 7-8 chapter takes places between these two and someone has suggested to run the whole book with these two and creating more issues.

Now original I thought of this in when second male character comes into play. Incubus that Kind of pulling guy one to be more protective admitting his feelings with new guy in the picture while a few more chapters later we find male 3 the vampire.

This is where things would continue to be all crazy and people go missing.

... Read moreHey bookworms! Since we're chatting about multi-POV fantasy, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into why this style can be so captivating – or sometimes, a bit tricky to pull off. Personally, I get so invested when an author truly nails alternating perspectives. It’s like getting a VIP pass into multiple minds, really understanding what everyone's thinking and feeling as the plot unfolds. For my own project, I'm grappling with introducing characters like my FMC, a Panther Shifter (hello, Rayden!), an Incubus, and eventually a Vampire. How do you all feel about being slowly introduced to multiple POVs versus jumping right in? I'm thinking of starting with the FMC, then bringing in Rayden's perspective a few chapters later, perhaps around Chapter 7 as I'm drafting. Does that pacing work for you as a reader? Or do you prefer a rapid-fire introduction to everyone's inner world? One of the biggest joys of multi-POV is seeing the same event from wildly different angles. Imagine a scene where my FMC might encounter something strange, and then you immediately switch to the Panther Shifter's POV, understanding his protective instincts or hidden agenda. Or perhaps seeing the dynamics of a place like Riverside Psychiatric Hospital through the eyes of various characters, like my character Taylen in Chapter 1. That kind of layered storytelling can build incredible tension and intrigue, especially in a reverse harem where everyone has their own motivations and connections. But let's be real, it's not always easy. Sometimes, too many POVs can make a story feel disjointed, or you lose track of characters. What are your personal pet peeves when reading multi-POV? Is it when one character's POV is less interesting? Or when the transitions feel jarring? I'm striving to give each of my characters – from the fierce Panther Shifter to the enigmatic Incubus and the ancient Vampire – a distinct voice and purpose, so their alternating perspectives always add to the story, rather than detracting from it. I'm trying to ensure that each perspective truly advances the plot or deepens character understanding, making every switch worthwhile. What are some of your favorite fantasy books that use multiple POVs brilliantly? I’m looking for inspiration and tips as I continue to build this world where people go missing and things get crazy! Your insights are super valuable to me as I navigate this exciting writing journey. #writingcommunity #bookdiscussion #fantasybooks

I’ve read a lot of these. They don’t bother me as long as it’s clear. Sometimes, I feel like they switch mid chapter and that’s a no-go for me. 😂
