... Read moreOh my goodness, you guys! I just got back from an amazing book-browsing session, and I simply had to share my latest haul with all of you. My shelves were practically begging for new additions, and I think I've found some real gems that I'm so excited to dive into!
First up, and probably what most of you are curious about from my haul, is the new Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Manga ~Anthology~ Vol. 2! If you're a fan of the game or the anime, you know how much fun this series is. This anthology volume promises even more delightful stories featuring our favorite anime-style male characters from the various dorms. I'm always eager to see new interpretations and fan-favorite scenarios brought to life in manga form. It's such a treat to get more content from this universe, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what adventures await within these pages. It's a must-have for any Twisted-Wonderland enthusiast!
Next, for all my fellow animal lovers, I finally got my hands on A Man & His Cat Vol 12! This series, featuring the endearing Fukumaru Cat, is just pure joy. Every volume is a heartwarming journey of an older gentleman and his beloved, slightly grumpy, but ultimately sweet cat. It's the perfect pick-me-up, filled with laugh-out-loud moments and tender scenes that just melt your heart. If you need a dose of wholesome happiness and adorable feline antics, seriously, pick up this manga. It always leaves me with a big smile on my face, and I can't wait to see what Fukumaru and his owner are up to in this latest installment.
But it's not all cute cats and magical schools! I also ventured into some more intense reads. I grabbed Moriarty The Patriot Vol 18. This series is a brilliant reimagining of the classic Sherlock Holmes tales from the perspective of his cunning nemesis, William James Moriarty. The artwork is always stunning, and the intricate plots keep you on the edge of your seat. Seeing the anime-style male character with a revolver on the cover just sets the tone for the thrilling mind games within. If you enjoy historical mysteries with a dark, psychological edge, you absolutely have to check this out.
And speaking of unique manga, I also found Cat Massage Therapy Vol 1! The cover alone, with that friendly-looking white cartoon cat wearing a "MANAGER" badge, had me intrigued. It looks like it’s going to be a lighthearted and quirky read, probably perfect for when you need a mental break. I'm excited to see what kind of hilarious situations a cat running a massage parlor can get into!
Finally, for my horror enthusiasts, I picked up a couple of chilling titles. First is The Haunting of Alejandra. The cover, with its silhouette of a woman's profile filled with colorful roses, is so hauntingly beautiful. I've heard great things about the psychological depth and atmospheric dread in this one. I love a good ghost story that really gets under your skin, and this one sounds like it will deliver a compelling and emotional narrative about confronting personal demons alongside supernatural ones. It sounds like a truly immersive and terrifying read.
And last but certainly not least, I added The Hollow Dead Gravekeeper #4 by Darcy Coates to my collection. Darcy Coates is a name synonymous with masterfully crafted ghost stories, and I'm always eager to pick up her latest work. Her books are known for their eerie settings – and that dark graveyard scene with silhouetted tombstones on the cover confirms it! – and truly unsettling hauntings. I'm ready to be scared silly and lose myself in another one of her terrifying worlds. If you're looking for a genuinely spooky read, you can never go wrong with Darcy Coates.
What an exciting collection of books! I'm already planning my reading schedule. Have you read any of these? Or do you have any recommendations for my next book haul? Let me know in the comments below!
