Iceland dump 🇮🇸 ✨

... Read moreOh my gosh, I just have to tell you all about my incredible trip to Iceland! If 'me travel Iceland' is on your bucket list, you absolutely have to go. It was truly an unforgettable adventure, and I'm so excited to share some of my favorite moments and practical tips from exploring Vik and Reykjavik. First up, Vik! The village itself is charming, but the real magic is Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. Walking along those dramatic black sands, with the powerful waves crashing and the basalt columns towering above, felt like stepping onto another planet. Seriously, it's breathtaking! I spent ages just watching the waves and taking it all in. A quick tip for anyone planning to visit: those waves can be super powerful and unpredictable, so always keep a safe distance. It gets pretty chilly and windy even in summer, so definitely layer up! Then it was on to Reykjavik, the vibrant capital. The city has such a unique vibe – a mix of modern design, colorful buildings, and a thriving arts scene. I loved wandering through the streets, discovering quirky street art, and popping into the charming shops along Laugavegur. Hallgrímskirkja church is an absolute must-see; the architecture is incredible, and the views from the top are spectacular. It gave me such a fantastic panoramic perspective of the city against the surrounding mountains. Let's talk about food, because honestly, Iceland's culinary scene surprised me in the best way! After a day of exploring, finding a cozy spot for 'lunch' or 'dinner' was always a treat. I made sure to try some local specialties. One afternoon, after a particularly blustery walk, I stumbled upon a lovely little cafe that had the most delicious 'freshly baked CAKES & COOKiES' – perfect with a warm 'Chacolale hot teA& Atte CHai'. It was exactly what I needed to warm up! I also remember having an incredibly comforting 'grilled ChEESe SOUP' that hit the spot. And for those who enjoy a local brew, yes, you can definitely find a nice 'COLD F BEER HERE!' in Reykjavik's many pubs. Don't be shy about trying the local fish dishes; they're incredibly fresh and delicious. For anyone thinking 'Travel with me' to Iceland, here are a few more thoughts. Renting a car is highly recommended if you want to explore beyond the city, especially for places like Vik. The freedom to stop wherever you want for a photo op or just to admire the landscape is priceless. Also, be prepared for all kinds of weather, sometimes all in one day! Layers are your best friend. And don't forget to look up at night if you're there during the right season – the Northern Lights are an absolute dream. My Iceland trip was truly an epic journey, filled with stunning natural beauty and memorable experiences. It’s a place that stays with you long after you’ve left. I hope my little diary inspires you to plan your own Icelandic adventure!
