JANUARY EMPTIES

Project pan update

I LOVE the method body wash. that scent is heavenly honestly to the point I bought 4 bottles since it was a limited edition. I'm currently on my second bottle.

L'occitane ultra body cream??? my skin was smooth as silk the entire time. I am currently using up other body cream/moisturizers I have but then I will reorder that one. The container is metal and is refillable so I kept it and will use it for my hair ties 😘#byoma moisturizer

Byoma face moisturizer: screams in lower case.. I love the way my skin feels so I repurchased!

I wasn't super impressed with the Japanese toothpaste which I got from Ebisu in Raleigh. it just didn't stand out. #projectpan

... Read moreHey everyone! So, diving deeper into my recent empties and seeing all the buzz around L'Occitane, it got me thinking about evaluating some of our favorite personal care brands, especially when it comes to body wash. You know how much I loved that Method body wash (the limited edition one with pear, red berries, and mandarin – seriously heavenly!), but let's talk L'Occitane for a moment, and specifically, what people often ask about: antibacterial properties in their body washes. From my experience, and looking at their brand philosophy, L'Occitane really shines in crafting luxurious, nourishing body care, often focusing on skin-loving ingredients sourced from Provence. While they don't typically market their body washes with explicit "antibacterial" claims in the same way some mainstream brands might, many of their natural ingredients, like lavender or verbena, do possess inherent purifying qualities. For example, if you're looking for something that offers a gentle cleanse with a focus on hygiene, their Verbena Shower Gel could be a lovely option, though it's more about refreshing and invigorating than being a clinical antibacterial solution. It’s important to remember that most good quality soaps and body washes effectively remove germs and bacteria through their cleansing action, regardless of specific antibacterial additives. So, if your primary goal is just effective cleaning, you're usually covered! What I truly appreciate about L'Occitane, and something I highlighted when talking about my L'Occitane Ultra Rich Body Cream empty (which, by the way, left my skin smooth as silk!), is their commitment to quality ingredients and sustainability. Remember how I mentioned keeping the metal jar of the Ultra Rich Body Cream because it's refillable? That's a huge win for me! Many of their full-sized products, including some body washes, come with eco-refills, which significantly reduces plastic waste. This focus on environmental responsibility, coupled with their dedication to fair trade and supporting local communities, really elevates L'Occitane beyond just a beauty brand to a conscientious personal care company. When you're evaluating a brand like L'Occitane, you're not just buying a product; you're investing in an experience. Their scents are often complex and long-lasting, and the textures of their creams and washes are incredibly indulgent. If you're someone who loves a pampering shower routine and values natural, high-quality ingredients that truly nourish your skin, L'Occitane is definitely a company to consider. They excel at providing rich hydration and beautiful fragrances, making daily routines feel a bit more special. Now, comparing them to my beloved Method body wash – they cater to slightly different needs. Method is fantastic for everyday, vibrant scents and a great price point, making it super accessible. But for those times you want to treat your skin to something extra special, or if you have drier skin like mine that craves that intense hydration, L'Occitane's range, including their body creams and richer washes, can be a game-changer. Both have their place in my routine, depending on what my skin needs or what mood I'm in! So, while L'Occitane might not be your go-to for a harsh antibacterial wash, they are an exceptional personal care company renowned for their natural origins, luxurious feel, and increasingly, their sustainable practices. If you're looking to elevate your body care routine with products that feel good and do good (for your skin and the planet), definitely give them a closer look. And remember, sometimes the best 'evaluation' comes from trying things out yourself!
