HIGH PROTEIN CHIA PUDDING

Just 3 ingredients!✨

• Choice of fruit

• Chia Seeds (of course)

• Your favorite store-bought protein shake

Follow the steps in the slides! I usually end up using almost the whole bottle to make a nice consistency.

Chia seeds are high in fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, protein, calcium, magnesium, and antioxidants, promoting digestion, heart health, bone health, and immunity.

The trick to make the perfect chia pudding consistency and not an icky one and mixing in the protein shake little by little and letting the mix sit for a few minute before adding in more.

I highly recommend that you use a very liquidy type of protein shake and not a very thick one to ensure the chia seeds can easily absorb it.

... Read moreHey everyone! I'm so excited you're loving my super easy high-protein chia pudding recipe. I get so many questions about customizing it, especially for meal prep and using different protein sources, so I wanted to share a few more tips and tricks to make sure your pudding is always perfect and packed with everything you need! First off, while I absolutely adore using a liquid protein shake like the Koia Coconut Almond one (it seriously makes it so creamy and easy!), I know many of you prefer using protein powder. No worries, you can totally do that! The key is adjusting your liquid. For every 2 tablespoons of chia seeds, I'd typically recommend about 1 scoop of your favorite protein powder mixed with roughly 3/4 to 1 cup of liquid (like almond milk, oat milk, or even water, depending on your desired consistency and macro goals). Just make sure to dissolve the protein powder in your chosen liquid before adding the chia seeds to prevent any clumping. I find shaking it vigorously in a separate container works best, then pour it over your chia seeds and mix well. Speaking of macro goals, let's talk about tracking those! It's actually pretty straightforward with chia pudding because the ingredients are so simple. A typical serving (about 2 tablespoons of dry chia seeds) will give you around 100-140 calories, 4-5g protein, 8-10g fiber, and about 9g fat (mostly healthy omega-3s!). When you add your protein source, whether it's a shake or powder, just check its label. For example, my Koia shake adds about 18g of protein and around 180 calories per bottle. Then, factor in any fruit or toppings you add – like a handful of berries might be 50-80 calories. It’s super customizable, which is why I love it for hitting my daily targets. You might be wondering about those little chia seeds and how they transform. They're truly magical! Chia seeds can absorb up to 10-12 times their weight in liquid, which is why they expand so much and create that pudding-like texture. This expansion is also why they're so filling and great for digestion. The "trick" I mentioned in my original post about adding the protein shake little by little, and letting it sit, helps ensure each seed gets fully hydrated without clumping together, giving you that smooth, creamy consistency rather than a lumpy, "icky" one. And for all my meal-preppers out there, popping this into jars is a game-changer! Not only do they look super cute, but individual jars make grabbing a healthy breakfast or snack on the go incredibly easy. I often make a few jars at the beginning of the week. You can layer in fresh berries, sliced bananas, or even a sprinkle of granola right before serving. The beauty of the jar is that you can see all those delicious layers. Just make sure to leave a little room at the top for expansion and any toppings you might add later! So, whether you're using a shake or powder, aiming for specific macros, or just want a super convenient and healthy treat, these extra tips will help you perfect your high-protein chia pudding game!
