Day in my Life being a mom 🫶🥰
So many of you ask about what a real day in my life being a mom looks like, especially as a stay-at-home parent. It's often portrayed as glamorous or perpetually chaotic, but the truth is, it's a beautiful blend of both, filled with unique stay at home mom responsibilities that evolve every single day. I'm excited to share a glimpse into my typical routine, hoping it offers some insight and perhaps a little solidarity! My DAY IN MY LIFE usually kicks off before the sun, around 6 AM. The alarm clock for a mom often isn't an alarm at all, but tiny feet pattering or a gentle wake-up call from a little one. Our mornings are a whirlwind of snuggles, getting breakfast on the table (usually something quick but nutritious like oatmeal or scrambled eggs), and helping with outfits and getting ready for the day. If there's school, then it's packing lunches and the morning commute. It's all about setting a positive tone for the day, even when you're still half-asleep! Once the kids are settled or off to school, the real 'work' of the home begins. This is often my prime time for tackling household chores. Between laundry cycles, tidying up from breakfast, and a quick sweep or vacuum, it feels like there's always something to do. I often use my Amazon Prime membership to quickly order any household essentials or groceries, saving me a trip to the store and precious time. These are the unsung stay at home mom responsibilities that keep our homes running smoothly. Sometimes, I'll sneak in a workout or a quiet moment with a cup of tea – those moments of self-care are truly golden. The afternoon is usually dedicated to the kids again. If they're home, it's playtime, reading books, educational activities, or heading to a park or playdate. If they're at school, this is when I might run errands, do meal prep for dinner, or catch up on any personal tasks. Snack time is a big event, followed by homework help (if applicable) and preparing for dinner. Being a mom means constantly thinking ahead – what's for dinner, what do we need tomorrow, what appointments are coming up? Evening is a cherished time. We gather for dinner, sharing stories from our day. Then it’s bath time, pajamas, bedtime stories, and finally, tucking them into bed. This bedtime routine is sacred to me; it’s a moment for quiet connection and reflection. Once the kids are asleep, I usually have a little time to myself – maybe to finish up some chores, plan for the next day, or just unwind with a book or a show. It's a chance to recharge my own batteries after a full *day in my life as a mom*. While every day in my life as a mom is different, it's a beautiful, messy, and incredibly rewarding journey. The list of stay at home mom responsibilities can feel endless, but the love, laughter, and growth I see in my children make every single moment worth it. It’s about finding joy in the small things and embracing the beautiful chaos that comes with raising a family.
