Pepper The Goat

Living with a goat like Pepper, who's always "back at it, trying to teach the game of headbutting," is certainly an adventure! Another aspect of living with a headbutting goat is understanding their body language. Before Pepper gets into full headbutting mode, there are often subtle cues – a lowered head, a slight pawing of the ground, or a sudden burst of energy. Learning these signals allows me to intervene before things escalate, either by offering a distraction or creating some distance. It's all about building a respectful relationship with your goat and teaching them appropriate interactions. Providing plenty of space and enrichment, like climbing structures or other goat companions, can also help channel their natural instincts in a safe and healthy way. It's a journey, but watching Pepper learn and grow into a well-behaved, albeit still playful, farm member is incredibly rewarding!
