🫣 I’m not sold... yet.
One thing about me? I'm officially a travel-size and sample-size shopper. I'm done blind buying full-size products. 😅
Today's Sephora haul:
✨ Juliette Has a Gun Mini Duo 💰Price: ($34)
🍌 Banana Rush
🤍 Not a Perfume
✨ Josie Maran Golden Hour Mini 💰Price: ($16)
First impression: Josie Maran Golden Hour
I honestly expected it to be more moisturizing. The scent is nice, but it didn't wow me. As of right now, it's not making my full-size purchase list.
Juliette Has a Gun Mini Duo
I picked up the duo because I wanted to try Banana Rush and Not a Perfume before committing to a full-size bottle.
Not a Perfume caught my eye after a Google search for fragrances that give baby powder vibes—it kept coming up as a recommendation. After smelling it, I can definitely see why. It has a clean, fresh, skin-like scent that feels effortless, and I've heard it's long-lasting, which is a huge plus for me.
Fragrance notes for Not a Perfume:
* 🤍 Cetalox
That's it! It's a single-note fragrance, which is why it smells so clean and minimal. Depending on your skin chemistry, it can come across as musky, airy, fresh, or slightly powdery.
I haven't formed an opinion on Banana Rush just yet, but I'll be testing over the next few days and updating this post.
As a lover of travel-size products myself, I can totally relate to the hesitation when it comes to committing to full-size skincare or fragrance without trying them first. Mini sizes offer the perfect way to test a product’s scent, performance, and lasting power without the risk of wasting money. In my experience, brands like Juliette Has a Gun excel in producing unique, minimalist fragrances such as Not a Perfume, which is widely loved for its clean, single-note Cetalox base. This note can smell differently depending on your skin chemistry, often presenting a subtle baby powder or musky freshness that many find comforting and wearable daily. On the other hand, body butters like Josie Maran’s Golden Hour, infused with whipped argan oil, promise moisturizing skin benefits alongside a pleasant scent. However, sometimes these mini versions don’t quite deliver the hydration boost one might expect compared to their full-size counterparts or when compared to other body butters in the market. It’s important to consider texture and absorption rate alongside scent when evaluating a product like this. If you’re intrigued by these products or brands, I recommend focusing on whether the fragrance’s longevity suits your daily routine and if the moisturization levels meet your skin needs, especially if you have dry skin. Testing Banana Rush over several days is a smart move, as scent profiles can evolve with wear time. Overall, shopping travel-size or sample-size versions is a savvy strategy for anyone cautious about blind buying, especially with niche luxury fragrances and skincare. It saves money, reduces waste, and often leads to more confident, informed full-size purchases. Have you tried any mini versions from Juliette Has a Gun or Josie Maran? What are your thoughts on single-note fragrances or whipped body butters? Sharing experiences like these helps all of us find what truly works!
