🌿🔥 Free Heat for My Greenhouse! (DIY Biomeiler Set
Say goodbye to expensive electric heaters! 💸🚫 I’m building a Biomeiler (Compost Heater) to keep my greenhouse toasty all winter using nothing but wood chips, manure, and the sun! ☀️🪵Here’s how it works:
1️⃣ The "Engine": A giant compost pile (wood chips + manure) generates natural heat up to 60°C! 🌡️
2️⃣ The Boost: A solar PEX heater on the roof pre-warms the water on sunny days. ☀️
3️⃣ The Flow: A 12V pump (solar-powered!) pushes water through the hot compost pile and into a radiator inside. 🔄
4️⃣ The Result: Free, sustainable heat for my plants 24/7! 🌱🍅My Setup Breakdown:
✅ Power: 100W Solar Panel + 12V Battery 🔋
✅ Heat Source: Compost Mound with 100ft of hosepipe buried inside 🐍
✅ Heat Emitter: Recycled Radiator 💨
✅ Cost: Super low (mostly recycled parts + nature!) 💰Why do this?
Because heating a greenhouse in the UK is expensive! 🇬🇧 This system uses biological heat (bacteria decomposing wood) to do the hard work. Plus, at the end of the season, I get amazing compost for the garden! 🪴✨Swipe to see the diagram & my 12V control panel! 👉#Greenhouse #DIY #OffGrid #SolarPower #GardeningHacks #SustainableLiving #CompostHeating #GrowYourOwn #UKGardener #SmartHome #EcoFriendly #Permaculture #WinterGardening #Lemon8DIY
