Once that's dry, I cut off the excess cap material around my ears and hairline, then apply a skin protectant to my forehead. This not only protects my skin but also helps the adhesive stick better. When it comes to actually laying the wig, customization is key. Most wigs come with a very dense hairline. To get that natural transition, you absolutely have to pluck the hairline. I use tweezers to carefully pluck out individual hairs, gradually creating a softer, more realistic hairline that mimics how natural hair grows. Start slowly and step back often to check your progress. You can also create subtle baby hairs by pulling out a few strands and styling them with gel or mousse. Finally, for that truly 'melted' look, the adhesive application and melting process are crucial. I apply my lace adhesive in thin, even layers along my hairline, letting each layer dry clear and tacky before applying the next (usually 2-3 layers). Once the wig is pressed onto the tacky adhesive, I use a melting band or a silk scarf tied firmly around my hairline for about 15-30 minutes.
