ถ้าคุณพ่อคุณแม่กำลังจะ “ห้ามเล่นเกม” เพราะรู้สึกว่าลูกเล่นเยอะจนเกินไป ฉันอยากชวนให้หยุดคิดนิดนึงว่าเรากำลัง “ห้ามเพราะกลัว” หรือ “ห้ามเพราะเห็นสัญญาณเสี่ยงจริง ๆ” เพราะสองอย่างนี้ให้ผลลัพธ์ต่างกันมากค่ะ จากประสบการณ์ที่คุยกับหลายครอบครัว การห้ามแบบหักดิบ (ยึดมือถือ/ปิดเน็ตทันที) มักทำให้เกิด 3 อย่าง: ลูกหงุดหงิดมากขึ้น แอบเล่น/โกหกมากขึ้น และความสัมพันธ์พังเร็วขึ้น โดยเฉพาะถ้าลูกใช้เกมเป็นที่ระบายเครียดหรือเป็นพื้นที่ที่รู้สึกว่า “ฉันเก่ง” ในชีวิตประจำวัน สิ่งที่ทำได้ก่อนตัดสินใจห้าม คือ “ประเมินความเสี่ยง” แบบง่าย ๆ: - ถ้าลูกเล่นแล้ว “ยังทำการบ้านได้ นอนได้ อารมณ์ปกติ และยังมีอย่างอื่นในชีวิต” อาจเป็นแค่เล่นเยอะช่วงหนึ่ง - แต่ถ้าเริ่มมีอาการชัด เช่น คิดถึงแต่เกม หงุดหงิดเมื่อถูกห้าม เล่นนานขึ้นเรื่อย ๆ แอบเล่น หรือการเรียน/สุขภาพ/ความสัมพันธ์แย่ลง และเป็นต่อเนื่องหลายเดือน แบบนี้ควรจริงจังมากขึ้น ถ้าจำเป็นต้อง “จำกัด” หรือ “หยุด” แนะนำวิธีที่นุ่มแต่ชัดกว่าการห้ามทันที: 1) คุยตอนอารมณ์ดี ไม่คุยตอนเพิ่งแพ้เกม/เพิ่งโดนดุ เริ่มด้วยการสะท้อนความรู้สึก เช่น “พ่อแม่เป็นห่วงเรื่องนอน/การเรียน” มากกว่าประโยคปิดทางอย่าง “ห้ามเล่นเกม!” 2) ตั้งกติกาแบบร่วมกัน (Family agreement) ลองตกลงเวลาเล่นเป็นช่วง ๆ เช่น วันเรียน 1 ชม. หลังการบ้านเสร็จ และวันหยุดเพิ่มได้ พร้อมเงื่อนไขที่ชัด (นอนก่อนกี่โมง, ไม่เล่นระหว่างกินข้าว) 3) ใช้ “เวลาเตือนล่วงหน้า” ลดการปะทุ เด็กหลายคนหัวเสียเพราะถูกตัดตอนกำลังเล่นอยู่ ลองเตือน 10 นาที และ 5 นาที ก่อนหมดเวลา จะลดการหงุดหงิดได้มาก 4) เติมกิจกรรมชีวิตจริงให้พอ ๆ กับการลดเกม ถ้าลดเกมแต่ไม่มีกิจกรรมทดแทน ลูกจะรู้สึกเหมือนถูกพรากความสุขไปเฉย ๆ ลองเพิ่มกิจกรรมที่เขาเลือกเอง เช่น กีฬา ดนตรี วาดรูป หรือออกไปทำอะไรสั้น ๆ กับครอบครัว 5) สังเกต “เหตุผลที่เล่น” ถ้าลูกเล่นเพื่อหนีความเครียด เหงา หรือกังวล การห้ามอย่างเดียวไม่พอ ควรช่วยหาวิธีระบายอื่น เช่น พูดคุย ออกกำลัง หรือปรึกษาผู้เชี่ยวชาญ สุดท้าย ถ้าลองปรับกติกาแล้วลูกยังควบคุมไม่ได้ มีอาการหนักต่อเนื่อง หรือกระทบการเรียน/สุขภาพชัดเจน การปรึกษาจิตแพทย์เด็กและวัยรุ่นหรือนักจิตวิทยาเป็นทางเลือกที่ช่วยได้จริง เพราะภาวะติดเกม (Internet Gaming Disorder) เป็นเรื่องที่รักษาได้ค่ะ
