Grenades are so fun to use in Fortnite
Hey fellow loopers! Let's talk about one of the most underrated, yet incredibly fun and effective tools in Fortnite: grenades! So many players focus solely on their guns, but I've found that mastering different grenade types can seriously elevate your game and surprise your opponents. It’s not just about throwing them randomly; each grenade has its unique purpose, and understanding them can turn the tide of a battle. First up, let's dive into the various grenade types you'll encounter. The classic Frag Grenade is your go-to for dealing direct damage and destroying structures. I often use them to clear out a small building or to force an opponent out of cover, especially when they're boxed up. Then there are the Stink Bombs, which are absolute tactical gold! These aren't about direct damage but about area denial and forcing movement. I love throwing a Stink Bomb into a small room where an enemy is healing or hiding. That continuous damage combined with the visual obstruction often makes them panic and rush out, creating an easy target for my Burst Assault Rifle. Imagine an enemy trying to hide after you've landed a good shot, perhaps near a landmark like Pleasant Park; a perfectly placed Stink Bomb can make them feel like they Cannot Sprint, Low Energy, and must escape, securing you the elimination. Beyond direct damage, we have grenades that control the battlefield. Impulse Grenades and Shockwave Grenades are fantastic for mobility, pushing enemies off high ground, or making quick escapes. I’ve used Shockwave Grenades countless times to launch myself over mountains or to surprise an enemy by boosting into their build. The Boogie Bomb is another fun one, forcing enemies to dance, leaving them vulnerable for a few seconds. It’s hilarious and incredibly effective for close-quarters combat or when you need a quick opening. Now, while explosives are super fun, it's also crucial to ensure your game is running smoothly so you can land those crucial grenade throws and shots. This brings me to something many players overlook: your Fortnite FPS cap. FPS stands for Frames Per Second, and it basically dictates how smooth your game looks and feels. A higher, stable FPS means a more responsive game, making it easier to aim, build, and react quickly. If your FPS is constantly dropping or inconsistent, it can severely impact your performance, even if you have the best tactical awareness. What is an FPS cap? It’s simply the maximum number of frames your game will try to render per second. You can set this in your Fortnite settings under the Video/Display tab. I personally try to set my FPS cap slightly above my monitor's refresh rate (e.g., if I have a 144Hz monitor, I might cap it at 160 or 180 FPS, or even unlimited if my PC can handle it stably). This helps prevent screen tearing and ensures a consistent visual experience. If you’re experiencing stuttering or lag, try lowering your FPS cap slightly, or ensuring it's set to "Unlimited" if your hardware is powerful enough to maintain a high frame rate. A stable FPS can make a huge difference in those intense build battles and close-range engagements where every millisecond counts, allowing you to perfectly time that Stink Bomb throw or aim your Burst Assault Rifle. So, next time you drop into the island, remember to experiment with your grenade loadout and tweak your FPS settings. You might just find your new favorite strategy for securing those Victory Royales! Happy looting!
