AYA- Are concerts a waste of money? 👀

The past couple of years, I’ve been trying to prioritize experiences and the present moment instead of being hyper fixated on money and the future. 🔮

Concerts have been a new way for me to do that and listen/experience music from my favorite artist live. 🎸🎫

Some people say they hate concerts. Some say they don’t get the point and wouldn’t pay to see someone perform. Some flat out say it’s not worth the money. 💸

I take it as a chance to see someone showcase their art at a time where I was also here to witness. I don’t want to look back and say “I wish I did that thing” once I realize I’ll never get the chance to again. Also, the real thing will be better than any recording! 🎶

Attending concerts has become more than just a pastime; it’s an immersive experience that many find invaluable. For those who cherish music, concerts offer a chance to connect deeply with the art and artist. Unlike recordings, live shows provide an authentic atmosphere filled with energy, spontaneity, and the communal vibe of fellow fans. This live ambience can’t be replicated through speakers or screens. Many people hesitate due to the cost, comparing ticket prices and associated expenses such as travel and merchandise. However, viewing concerts as an investment in memories can change that perspective. These events often become stories we share for years, moments that mark important periods in our lives, and a way to be fully present away from daily stresses. Besides entertainment, concerts support artists financially and creatively, helping them continue producing music and art. Watching a favorite musician perform live can inspire personal creativity and bring a sense of belonging to a passionate community. Ultimately, whether concerts are deemed a waste of money depends on individual values around experiences versus possessions. If you prioritize living in the moment and forming lasting memories, concerts can be priceless. They offer more than music—they offer connection, joy, and a chance to witness art as it unfolds live.

I think in general they are worth it, live music is a great experience especially if you love the musician. Nowadays, some shows are just so expensive, I personally prefer to go to smaller shows to get the concert experience at a better price.
