From personal experience, I’ve found that taking intentional breaks helps me regain focus and motivation rather than feeling guilty about the time away from tasks. Understanding that "your worth is not measured by how productive you were today" is liberating and opens the door to sustainable self-care practices. Healing is not linear, and sometimes, the best way to move forward is by simply pausing. Rest can involve quiet moments, meditation, or engaging in activities that bring joy without pressure. For people living with ADHD, structured rest periods can reduce overwhelm and improve concentration once activity resumes. Overall, promoting a mindset that values rest as a form of self-respect shifts the conversation around achievement and mental health. It's vital to remind yourself that taking time to heal and recharge is not a sign of weakness or failure, but rather an essential part of living a balanced and fulfilling life.
