There's usually a small entrance fee, which often includes a life vest – I definitely recommend wearing one, even if you're a strong swimmer, as it makes floating and enjoying the views so much easier. They have changing rooms and lockers available, so you can stash your belongings safely. The water temperature is usually just right, invigorating but not too cold, making it ideal for a long dip. The clarity of the water is what truly blew me away; you can see straight to the bottom in many areas! My top tip for visiting Yun Chen Cenote is to go early in the morning, right when they open. This way, you can beat the crowds and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. The light filtering through the jungle canopy onto the water is also magical at that time, perfect for photos! Don't forget to bring your swimsuit, a towel, and biodegradable sunscreen to protect the delicate ecosystem. Also, water shoes can be really helpful for navigating the sometimes slippery steps.
